Key Insights:
- ZetaChain’s migration vote puts crypto news focus on 99.4% support for a Solana move.
- ZETA would move to Solana at a 1:1 ratio, keeping supply and vesting schedules intact.
- Anuma’s 301,195 users feature in migration plans requiring a second governance vote.
Crypto news related to ZetaChain focused on a request to shut down Layer 1, with ZETA possibly moving to Solana. Proposal 68 had secured 99.4% support ahead of its September 20 deadline, according to the reported governance tally. However, the approval would only authorize preparations for another vote, leaving validators operating and users able to continue staking.
Participation reached 58%, exceeding the 40% quorum requirement, while opposition and abstentions each accounted for 0.3%. Voting opened September 17 and was scheduled to close September 20 at 14:58 UTC. The proposal links ZETA’s migration with a broader move toward Anuma, the project’s private AI application.
Crypto News Focuses on ZetaChain’s Two-Step Vote
The first ballot would not transfer tokens or set a date for shutting down ZetaChain. Instead, core contributors would prepare a second proposal covering the migration mechanism, snapshot height, and exchange coordination.
That proposal would also specify withdrawal windows, claim procedures, and the network’s halt schedule.

Before submitting those details, contributors must secure confirmation of token-swap procedures from participating exchanges.
Meanwhile, staking rewards would continue until the shutdown time established through the second proposal. The team has not finalized how staking might work after ZETA moves to Solana.
Holders would receive equivalent Solana balances, including locked and staked positions, while existing vesting schedules would retain their dates.
ZetaChain also plans to publish the snapshot export and checksum, enabling others to independently reproduce balance calculations. An archive node and explorer are expected to remain active after shutdown, ensuring access to historical network records.
ZETA Conversion Preserves Supply But Changes Precision
Under the plan, native ZETA would convert into a Solana SPL token at a one-to-one ratio. The ticker and total supply would remain unchanged, and the migration would create no additional tokens. However, decimal precision would fall from eighteen places to nine, with smaller unsupported amounts rounded down.
The current proposal excludes ZETA, which has already been issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. It also rejects a wrapped token backed by assets permanently locked on ZetaChain. The project said that the arrangement would require a bridge dependent on the network it intends to retire.
For holders following this crypto news, the first vote therefore leaves current balances unchanged. Any programs or contracts holding user ZETA during migration would undergo audits before handling those tokens.
After a completed migration, Solana validators would secure the network hosting ZETA, replacing ZetaChain’s independent consensus arrangement.
Crypto News: Anuma Migration Drives the Proposed Network Exit
Beyond the crypto news, ZetaChain also plans to move Anuma and its Private Memory Layer alongside ZETA. The application recorded 301,195 users through September 16 and surpassed one million requests across 35 AI models. Users can already lock ZETA for AI credits, removing those committed tokens from the circulating supply.
The team said keeping its Cosmos-based blockchain no longer supports its private AI development priorities. Its proposal cited upstream software maintenance, security patches, and validator coordination as continuing operational responsibilities.
It also referenced an August security response, although the public post-mortem did not identify ZetaChain among six exploited networks. Against that operational backdrop, the proposal concerns both token ownership and the infrastructure supporting Anuma.
The project cited Solana’s speed, liquidity, and AI-agent infrastructure as reasons for the proposed move. Execution still depends on the second governance vote, which must establish the procedures and timing before any network shutdown.
