Global cryptocurrency markets advanced on November 5 as the U.S. midterm election results eased some political uncertainty and improved investor appetite for risk assets. However, Trump-linked tokens came under pressure amid expectations that Democratic control of both chambers of Congress could slow the passage of pro-crypto legislation.

[Key Takeaways] • Market Trend: BTC, ETH, XRP and SOL advanced as risk appetite recovered following the U.S. midterm elections. TRX, WLFI and WLD declined. • Top Movers: RAY surged 12.73% to lead the top 100 cryptocurrencies, while TRUMP plunged 20.94%, recording the largest loss. • Data Snapshot: BTC rose 4.39% to $80,631.57 as of 9 a.m. KST on November 5.

According to CoinMarketCap data at 9 a.m. KST on November 5, Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at $80,631.57, up 4.39% over the previous 24 hours.

Major altcoins also posted gains. Ethereum (ETH) surged 6.83% to $2,426.08, outperforming other leading cryptocurrencies. XRP (XRP) rose 2.30% to $1.30, while Solana (SOL) gained 3.14% to $95.51.

Dogecoin (DOGE) advanced 2.60% to $0.07701, and Avalanche (AVAX) climbed 2.48% to $8.71. Tron (TRX) moved against the broader trend, slipping 0.64% to $0.3192.

Trump-Linked Tokens Diverge from Broader Market

Trump-linked cryptocurrencies also moved lower despite the broader market rally. World Liberty Financial (WLFI) dropped 4.87% to $0.04787, while Worldcoin (WLD) edged down 0.03% to $0.3764.

The weakness was more pronounced in OFFICIAL TRUMP (TRUMP), which fell 20.94%, recording the steepest decline among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Raydium (RAY), by contrast, led the group with a 12.73% gain.

The contrasting performance came as investors assessed the potential implications of the midterm election results for the Trump administration's cryptocurrency agenda. Democratic control of both chambers could make it harder to advance legislation favored by the crypto industry.

Elsewhere, Quai Network (QUAI) fell 1.04% to $0.006326, while Aleo (ALEO) declined 3.14% to $0.03694.
