Physical SHIB Coins on Offer at Fukuoka Event
Rakuten Wallet is bringing Shiba Inu ($SHIB) into the real world at a live investment seminar in Japan. The exchange has announced that its Securities Investment Academy in Fukuoka on September 12 will feature a presentation by senior analyst Matsuda, alongside a giveaway of physical SHIB souvenir coins at the Rakuten Wallet booth.
Entry is straightforward. SHIB holders simply need to show a screenshot of their Rakuten Wallet holdings to qualify for one of the collectible metal coins.
The coins are part of Rakuten Wallet's existing "Real Coin" series. The SHIB edition is the fifth release in the lineup, which already includes physical versions of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP. Unlike earlier entries in the series, the SHIB coin features a sandblast finish for a premium matte texture. The metal collectibles carry no technical connection to the Shiba Inu blockchain and are not a means of payment.
Part of a Broader SHIB Push in Japan
The Fukuoka event is the latest step in Rakuten Wallet's growing commitment to $SHIB. The exchange added the token to its platform in April, and the listing allows users to convert Rakuten Points into SHIB and spend them through Rakuten Pay at roughly 5 million retail locations across Japan.
The Fukuoka seminar is not a one-off. Rakuten Wallet plans to continue the roadshow with further seminars in Sapporo and Osaka in October, with the same commemorative coins on offer at each stop.
The campaign reflects a wider effort by Japanese crypto firms to engage retail investors offline. The physical coins are designed to make cryptocurrency more tangible for a conservative retail audience, with Rakuten targeting its ecosystem of 44 million users.
