Tonkeeper, one of the most widely used wallets in the TON ecosystem, has rebranded as Keeper (@keeper_wallet). The wallet now supports seven blockchain networks, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Alongside its original TON integration, new networks include TRON, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Base, and BSC.
The team said Tonkeeper was originally built as a dedicated wallet for the TON blockchain, and the rebrand broadens its scope as a multichain wallet while retaining that core TON support. With 77 million downloads behind it, the platform carries significant reach into this expanded remit.
The rebrand follows a change in management. The Open Platform said last month that it had taken over operational leadership of the wallet, with co-founders Oleg Andreev and Oleg Illarionov remaining as shareholders.
A key part of the upgrade is an integrated swap engine powered by @MoonPay, enabling cross-chain exchanges without requiring manual bridging or asset wrapping. Users can now execute cross-chain swaps in one tap, with the exact fee shown before confirmation, alongside a single browser for decentralised applications across every supported network.
The update also addresses a long-standing technical friction point. TON uses a key generation scheme that differs from the BIP-39/44 standards adopted by EVM-compatible chains. BIP-39 ensures that different wallets can generate and interpret the same mnemonic phrases, enhancing compatibility across various wallet implementations.EVM chains share Ethereum's coin type 60 because their address format and private-key derivation are identical, with wallets such as MetaMask using the same derivation path across Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and BSC. Keeper provides a migration path that allows existing TON users to move to this unified standard without losing access to their funds.
The wallet also includes Battery, its gasless transaction infrastructure, which allows users to pay network fees without holding the native gas token for each supported blockchain.A single recovery phrase backs up every account on every network, removing the need for a separate app or separate backup for each chain.
