XRP price is not having such a good day. It is down 1.5% to $1.05 as Ethereum is up to above $1,900. XRP holders do not like to see their token being outperformed by Ethereum, but today that is the reality.

The broader crypto market is showing mixed signals. Bitcoin is holding near $65,000, Ethereum is outperforming, and XRP is lagging. One analyst, Rob Art, shared a very good chart and tweet that caught my attention.

Rob Art: “20% of My Budget Is Waiting for $0.65 XRP”

Rob Art posted a detailed XRP analysis. He wrote:

“It’s possible diagonal support (white line) which marked the bottom in 2020 at $0.10 & 2022 at $0.28 will get tagged again and mark the bottom at roughly $0.65. I’ll be keeping 15%-20% of my budget for XRP on the side for this. Currently, I’m 50% allocated.”

The tweet is notable because Rob Art is already heavily allocated to XRP at 50% of his portfolio. He is willing to add more if the price drops to $0.65, but he is not betting on that outcome with certainty. It is a conditional setup.

The XRP Chart: A Multi-Year Ascending Trendline

The weekly XRP/USD chart from 2016 to present shows a long-term ascending trendline connecting major cycle lows. The trader has labeled five touch points along that trendline:

  • Point 1 (2020): ~$0.10 – the bottom before the 2021 bull run
  • Point 2 & 3 (2022): ~$0.28 – consolidation lows during the bear market
  • Point 4 (late 2024): ~$0.40–0.50 – the launchpad before the huge rally to $3.30+
  • Point 5 (projected, ~2026-2027): Where the trendline extends to next, roughly $0.65

Each time price has touched this rising diagonal support line, it has marked a major cycle bottom and preceded a big rally. The trendline has now survived three major tests (2020, 2022, 2024) across two full market cycles.

Current XRP Price Action and the Thesis

The XRP price is currently trading around $1.05, down from a 2025 high near $3.65. The chart shows price sliding through a series of horizontal support levels; each former support flipping to resistance on the way down, which is a classic bearish structure.

The trader’s argument is simple: if history repeats, the diagonal trendline (not the horizontal support levels) is the level that actually matters for a bottom. That would put a potential floor around $0.65 , which is why he is holding back 15-20% of his allocation to buy if price reaches that zone.

Key nuance: This is a conditional and if-then setup, not a prediction of certainty. The trader is describing a possible scenario he is positioning for, not guaranteeing price will fall that far. A drop to $0.65 would represent roughly a 39% decline from current levels.

XRP News: Grayscale Trust and Ripple Developments

Grayscale XRP Trust

The Grayscale XRP Trust (GXRP) saw a net creation of 480,000 shares in Q2 2026, bringing in $12.7 million. However, this inflow only recovered 12.2% of the 3.94 million shares that fled the fund in Q1. Furthermore, $16.8 million in operating losses (primarily from unrealized losses on its XRP holdings) erased those gains, reducing net assets to $57.4 million by June 30.

On-Chain Cosigner Proposal

Developers have submitted the “On-Chain Cosigner” proposal to the XRP Ledger Standards repository. It seeks to decentralize multi-signature transaction coordination by storing proposals and signatures directly on-chain, eliminating reliance on off-chain coordinators that can fail.

SEC Commissioner Peirce on Crypto Rules

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce stated the agency will proactively work on rules for crypto custody, tokenized securities, and fundraising frameworks, with or without the pending CLARITY Act. The Act itself, which would cement XRP’s commodity status, has 51 Senate votes but faces a delayed vote until at least September.

My Take: A Drop to $0.65 Is Possible, But Not Guaranteed

Rob Art’s chart is a clean long-term analysis. The ascending trendline has held for two full market cycles. Each touch has marked a major bottom and preceded a significant rally. The $0.65 level is mathematically derived from that trendline, not a random guess.

But a drop to $0.65 would require a 39% decline from current levels. That is a lot.

The current support at $1.00 would need to break, followed by $0.80, before $0.65 becomes relevant.
