Key takeaways

  • XRPL oracle stores RLUSD and EUROP pricing data
  • DIA publishes prices for major cryptocurrencies and stablecoins
  • Stale updates highlight remaining institutional infrastructure challenges

The XRP Ledger's native price-oracle infrastructure now contains market data for Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and euro-denominated EUROP, alongside XRP, Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets, expanding the pricing information available to blockchain-based financial applications.

According to the XRPL price-data dashboard, DIA is the only production provider identified within its monitored mainnet accounts, with two PriceOracle ledger objects recorded.

The development adds another component to XRPL's institutional infrastructure as Ripple expands bank custody services and stablecoin settlement capabilities.

However, the tracker flags both observed oracle objects as outdated, raising questions about data freshness and production readiness.

XRP Ledger Oracle Tracks RLUSD, EUROP and Major Cryptocurrencies

XRPL's XLS-47 PriceOracle functionality allows providers to publish external market prices directly into native ledger objects.

Each object can store prices for up to ten asset pairs, allowing applications to retrieve information without contacting the provider's external API for every lookup.

The monitored DIA oracle includes RLUSD/USD at $1.0008, EUROP/USD at $1.1192 and XRP/USDat $1.2508.

Bitcoin and Ethereum quotes also appear alongside USDC and USDT, although these figures represent historical observations rather than current market prices.

The recorded timestamp for the latest DIA object is November 2 at 20:02 UTC, and the dashboard classified its prices as stale.

The presence of a euro-denominated stablecoin feed is particularly relevant because XRPL has already demonstrated EUROP trading using XRP as an intermediary between digital assets.

Institutional Finance Creates Demand for On-Chain Price Feeds

Reliable market data can support applications involving tokenized assets, collateral valuation and automated financial transactions.

Ripple's recent DriveWealth partnership illustrates the growing interest in connecting RLUSD settlement with traditional financial infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the company's C2FO collaboration aims to introduce stablecoin settlement into commercial invoice financing.

Neither partnership establishes that its applications currently consume DIA's on-ledger price feeds.

That distinction matters because storing market information does not automatically demonstrate commercial usage or sufficient reliability for financial institutions.

Stale Oracle Data Raises Questions About Readiness

One monitored DIA object last updated in February 2025, while the newer object's November 2 prices were already several hours old when examined.

Outdated quotes can create valuation risks for applications requiring accurate market prices, especially when cryptocurrency prices move rapidly.

However, XRPL's proposed native lending system remains unapproved, and its initial design relies on off-chain underwriting rather than automatic collateral liquidations.

That limits any immediate conclusion about lending exposure from stale oracle prices.

Ripple's broader institutional credit initiative nevertheless shows why dependable blockchain financial data could become increasingly valuable.
